The Importance of Glutathione in Protecting Against Chronic Illness.

By Frank Tabino |

glutathione benefitsGlutathione is often referred to as “The Mother of all Antioxidants”, and it is one of the most important molecules your body naturally produces.  Many experts believe that a high level of glutathione in the body is the secret to prevent gaining, cancer, heart disease dementia and more.  There are close to 100,000 scientific articles written about glutathione, but I bet your doctor doesn’t now how to address the epidemic deficiency of this critical antioxidant.

Glutathione, (pronounced “gloota-thigh-own”),  is the master detoxifier and an absolutely critical component of your body’s immune system.  The good news is that your body naturally produces glutathione. The bad news is that poor diet, pollution, toxins, medications, stress, trauma, aging, infections and radiation all deplete your glutathione. Less than optimal levels of glutathione will leave your body susceptible to cell damage caused by oxidative stress and free radicals which causes DNA damage which often leads to cancer.  Without sufficient glutathione, your liver, your main avenue of detoxification, will not efficiently detoxify harmful substances from your body.

Clinical studies show that there is a glutathione deficiency in nearly all chronically ill people.  Some of the diseases linked to low glutathione levels are chronic fatigue syndrome, heart disease, cancer, chronic infections, autoimmune disease, diabetes, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, asthma, kidney problems, liver disease and more.  A growing body of scientific evidence shows that the ability to maintain high levels of glutathione in your body is the key to recovering from, or preventing chronic disease.

Glutathione is a naturally occurring molecule which your body produces from the amino acids L-cysteine, L-glycine and L-glutamine.  Glutathione’s unique power is derived from the sulfur chemical groups it contains.  Sulfur is a special molecule that acts like Velcro in the presence of toxins or free radicals.  For this reason, glutathione is the most important detoxifying agent ion your body.

Under normal conditions, the body has the ability to recycle and regenerate glutathione and maintain a high level of protective antioxidants.  However, when the body’s toxic load become too great, glutathione levels will begin to decline which will  lower the body’s total antioxidant level dramatically.  When the body is deprived of antioxidants, immune function declines and opens the door to disease..  Without the protection of antioxidants, the body can no longer protect itself from free radicals, infections or cancer.  Without antioxidant protection, the body cannot removes toxins, some of which may be carcinogenic. This will lead to further illness and start the body on a downward spiral of fading health.

Maintaining high levels of glutathione is critical for one very special reason.  Glutathione’s most important function in the body is to regenerate other antioxidants such as vitamin E, vitamin C and Lipoic acid.  By maintaining high glutathione levels, total antioxidant protection remains high and helps prevent or reverse disease.

Numerous studies have shown glutathione can help you restore or maintain peak physical and mental function.  Professional athletes use glutathione to decrease muscle damage, reduce recovery time, increase strength and endurance and shift metabolism from fat production to muscle development.

If you are sick, elderly or just not in peak physical condition, you probably have less than optimal glutathione levels.  Scientific studies show the highest level of glutathione is found in healthy young people.  Glutathione levels are lower in the healthy elderly and the lowest levels are found in chronically ill and hospitalized elderly.

Glutathione may well be the key to boosting your performance, keeping you healthy and reducing the effects of aging.  Glutathione is critical for immune function and controlling inflammation. It is the master detoxifier and the body’s main antioxidant, protecting our cells and making our energy metabolism run well.

And the good news is that you can do many things to increase this natural and critical molecule in your body. You can eat glutathione-boosting foods like garlic, onions, broccoli, kale, collards, cabbage, cauliflower, and watercress.

You can raise your glutathione level by exercising.  Exercise boosts your glutathione levels and thereby helps boost your immune system, improve detoxification and enhance your body’s own antioxidant defenses.

And you can take glutathione-boosting supplements, like Antioxidant Resilience.  Antioxidant Resilience contains a special form of glutathione called Setria Glutathione.  This patented extract has been show clinically to increase blood glutathione levels.  Try Antioxidant Resilience for ninety days and I know you will feel the healthy difference.  Antioxidant Resilience is available from Nutritional Solutions Inc toll-free (866) 866-3320.
